PHASE I

Second Make is a community-driven creative reuse space where materials get a second life.

  • Art from new & reclaimed materials

  • Education--Classes, Demonstrations, Lunch & Learns, Workshops

  • Community Make Groups, Public Projects,

  • Sustainability in action

🎯 WHY IT MATTERS

We throw away millions of usable materials every day. At the same time, people are looking for creativity, connection, and purpose.

Second Make bridges that gap.

Help Bring Second Make to Life
A Grassroots Creative Reuse Center for Our Community

💡 THE VISION & MISSION

Second Make is a community-driven reuse center and creative space that turns discarded materials into opportunity, education, and affordable access to art for everyone.

🌎 THE PROBLEM

Every day:

  • Usable materials are thrown away.

  • Creative education becomes less accessible.

  • Communities lose space to gather, learn, and make

At the same time:

  • The cost of supplies continues to rise.

  • People want to create—but can’t afford to

  • Perfectly reusable materials go unused.

✨ THE SOLUTION

Second Make transforms waste into creative resources.

We will:

  • Collect and redistribute reusable materials.

  • Offer low-cost creative supplies to the community.

  • Provide hands-on classes and workshops.

  • Create a welcoming, grassroots space for people to connect and make.

This is not just a space—it’s a movement built by the community, for the community.

📍 LOCAL IMPACT (DAYTONA BEACH / VOLUSIA COUNTY)

  • Serving Daytona Beach area (site location in progress, working with the city)

  • Accessible to surrounding Volusia County communities.

  • Supporting artists, families, teachers, and makers of all ages

💛 WHY THIS MATTERS

This project is:

  • Grassroots

  • People-powered

  • Built from 30+ years of creative experience and teaching.

It creates:

  • Access where there wasn’t any.

  • Value from what was discarded.

  • A place where people feel inspired, capable, and connected.

Upcycle Donations Center & Store

We will accept donations of clean, usable materials that would otherwise end up being thrown away. We will organize these into a shop so that the community, teachers, artists and those who might have use of them can purchase them for use.

Education

We have plans for a vibrant and varied educational program that includes affordable classes, utilizes upcycling of materials and reuse, promotes creative expression and serves as a location for every type of art and creativity.
